1 year old EM eating habits, just want to compile what some others have experienced :

Hi again everyone!

So Starbuck turned one year old on October 9th this year. She is lovely and healthy as far as I know. Still slim and a little petite for her breed (at least that's what I've been told) but that's OK, she was 16 lbs at 8 weeks when we got her.

After doing the new puppy owner thing where you freak out over everything and change her food a billion times, I finally got some patience and after lots of advice from you fine folks and research on my own, Starbuck has been consistently eating Nature's variety instinct, limited ingredient lamb and pea kibble. We top her kibble with cooked beef (she is picky and will starve herself for days on any kibble if there is no fresh meat in it).

She doesn't eat a ton, we give her about 2-1/4 to 2-1/2 cups of kibble with about 1/4 cup of meat, twice a day.

Until we started this feeding regime, she always had loose stool, but I was also feeding her too much (6 cups/day, when she was much younger) and I think that was part of the reason.

Anyway, just curious about your experiences with size/weight/feeding etc :)

Here she is today with her Christmas chicken and a couple other pics from the last month or so :)

I have troubles with my EM too! She is a picky eater for sure. Right now i have her on Addiction Salmon Bleu and did all the same things as you found out she was allergic to poultry when she was a baby so tried out several brands of Venison and Salmon before i found this one that works the best but of course is not sold in my city..... She will not eat her kibbles unless its topped with a) plain yogurt or her fav Petkind canned Salmon....i never tried the beef before but that is defiantly something i would try. My girl turned to be the runt i think mom was 130lbs and dad over 200 and my girl 2 years old and about 90 lbs....she is happy and healthy so cant complain about that ! Thanks for the post...

Your girl is beautiful.
Max was the runt. 9# at 8 weeks. Now 160 and 11 months old but not fat and he's growing STILL. He has suspected allergy to grain and chicken and definite allergy to peanut butter. He eats 3c/3c of diamond white fish and sweet potato with no toppers. Always a gobbler! He gets carrots and sometimes an apple or banana. Loves frozen veggies like peas and broccoli. Occassionally he gets a few spoons of plain greek yogurt and cheese to hide the supplements I give. He eats cooked beef liver. Raw beef bones (controversial practice I know because they are the larger weight bearing bones) and a grain free lamb/veggie dog food roll that I cut into little tiny pieces for training and manicures.
He loves tuna fish juice. He does not eat scraps and looks at the table full of food at dinner then walks away. Every once in a while he gets a chunk of raw beef or burger when I make dinner. I don't mess with eggs or too much variety because of allergies and I keep it simple and routine to avoid issues.
