  • Welcome back!

We decided to spruce things up and fix some things under the hood. If you notice any issues, feel free to contact us as we're sure there are a few things here or there that we might have missed in our upgrade.

  • Interesting to know. We were also looking at the filas for a k9 also but the corso looked like it could put the fear of god in someone quick fast and in a hurry!! lol Maybe they would think twice on running. Good to know that maybe not be the case. Thanks for the information.
if your husband is really interested in some working lines though, check out Cerberati on the web. Read their mission and goals. They are in the UK, and I imagine its hard to get a dog, but they sell "real corsos".
That is very interesting. I used to wonder why police didnt use more physically impressive dogs such as the Corso vs shepherds and Rotties. I found out its because Corso just dont have the work drive that these German breeds have. Im sure there are lots of Corso people who would hate to hear that but its true. These dogs are happy go lucky dogs that enyoy human contact and love and offer protection in return. I dont think that they are as trainable as the typical shepherd or whatever they typically use.....but dont mistake that for a lack of intelligence. Trainability and intelligence dont always go hand in hand. These dogs have strong minds of thier own. reguardless, if i were a crook, i would much rather get caught by a german shepherd than a Corso. Just from my hunting experience, a Corso can do a lot of damage on something, very quickly. Thats probably another reason that they arent as commonly used.
That would be amazing. My husband and I have been looking at getting one when he is able to be on the k9 unit with a police department. (He just graduated police academy)That would be his buddy when at work (and home). They seem like they can hold their own and seeing what our 7 month old em is capable of, I know a corso could the same if not better. Very interesting dogs!!
I would be willing to let you meet Lucius. I'm very fanatical about him. I'm also very opinionated as to what a Cane Corso should be. I personally don't think Corsos are particularly "pure bred". There are many different strains and different looks. The different strains of breeders from ages ago never really got on the same page and god knows what was bred into these dogs to create what we call the Cane Corso today. I prefer the long, tall catlike corsos that resemble the mastiff vs the bulldog/boxer strain that typically sets the standard. I picked the Corso because I hog hunt and needed the speed, stamina and will to bite, and wanted something a little more exotic and large than a pit.
Oh man a corso! I have been wanting to see one in person!! They are beautiful dogs from what I see on here. Our Sampson is 7 months and over 100lbs already. Crazy how big he has gotten already. I have been looking for someone here in the south cause from what I see on here everyone is from Canada lol.
Crazy! We just moved here from Brazoria in December. I guess I wont have the biggest dog in the neighborhood for long. We have a 4 year old Cane Corso. He is 140lbs, and thats big....nothing compared to what you guys are in store for. Ive seen English mastiffs that are nearing 300lbs. Good to meet you here. I just joined about a week ago.
