Grand daughter banging steel plates and working around nosey turkeys.. They were not very helpful in pulling off the mower blades..

Bella in the bucket and near the last of the summer veggies, But I put plastic on the greenhouse today so the Fall veggies start.. Because the greenbean crop was so poor we put in another round and we'll see if we can produce prior to the cold snap.. The recent rain had most of the maters split so the chickens and pig got the lions share of todays pickings..20200913_111040.jpg 20200913_110629.jpg

We're @ 14 weeks old now and doing good, lol less the damage and trash in the yard.. An outside chair was too close to the table and she of course found her way onto the table knocking off an old native table candle ornament.. Our fault for leaving the chair too close.. The leash training I've done has really paid off.. The 10 y/o grandson who I'll say lacks confidence and life experience really got to put her thru the paces the other day.. I'd bet she got at least a 1/2 mile around the yard, her tongue was hanging out of her head when done.. It was a proud heartwarming time watching him command her and her living up to his good experience.... Enough chit chat,,20200917_190631.jpg 20200917_190646.jpg

Because of the leash training that she has received she pays close attention to the human on the other end..

It rained here near all day so we spent the day in our little greenhouse.. We planted cabbage, 2 types of radish, carrots, lettuce and beets, still kicking from summer are some tomatoes, pepper and okra.. Freshly planted are some bush beans which will have beans here shortly.. The summer beans did not perform up to snuff so we'll see if we can boost that.. The 2 of us much enjoyed our day..20200922_111207.jpg 20200922_111152.jpg

I love the pictures! We got our Diesel (in my profile picture) when he was just four weeks old. He was part of an oopsy litter when the family's DDB got out and ended up with the neighbor's mutt. They lied to us about his age and when we got him home and realized he seemed way too young to be 8 weeks we called and asked for his actual birth date. The first few weeks were rough like caring for a newborn and he had bite inhibition issues to work through for awhile which only ended up being resolved through puppy preschool and meeting another nippy puppy. But, I have no doubt our home was the best place he could have ended up. They weren't going to keep him til the appropriate age no matter what so it was better he was with us who were equipped to raise such a young puppy then someone else. It sounds like you were in a similar spot with your girl. She is very lucky to have you.

Keep the pics and stories coming. I am envious of your green acre life though not of the rattle snakes. :)

Thank you Nik, Bella does have a mouthy tendency that is being worked on.. Not as bad with myself as with the wife.. Boxergirl brought up potential issues because of her wean / departure age.. For the most part we're doing great, I suspect time will cure any ills, so long as the wife can say no without giggling we'll gain ground..

I should have dubbed this the life and times of Bella.. LOL, I take pictures near daily.. So here's some of today.. Put together 2 more raised beds, cleaned up what was left of the potato factory.. What's funny is that she was afraid of the tape measure, how something so small could eject a yellow lightning bolt.. Well no more I've worn her out chasing her with it.. She is not the least bit afraid of the power tools and I've got to object when she wants to stick her face in a running saw.. She's at the end of that 2x4 growling because I cut play time short.. Yes that's sawdust she's wearing..20200925_145358.jpg 20200925_100805.jpg 20200925_100801.jpg

Another day in the life of Bella.. You ever try to get something done with a pup that thinks playtime is all the time ? She has decided her new favorite thing to do is attack legs lol, luckily she quits when I object, its not fun carrying 2x4s with a pup stuck to your leg.. I don't recall what I was doing but I had a leg stick out and I turn and look and she's got her front legs wrapped around my leg giving me THE business.. I had to laugh, it was too funny..

Bella is turning into quite the beauty! Love her face! Enjoy reading the daily adventures on the farm. What is a potato “factory”? Thanks for sharing!
