  • Welcome back!

We decided to spruce things up and fix some things under the hood. If you notice any issues, feel free to contact us as we're sure there are a few things here or there that we might have missed in our upgrade.

I get it. He has to earn his sockless freedom. Good luck and I'll keep everything crossed for you. I also see that I asked you a question and forgot to follow up. I asked if he was intact because it's very common for intact male dogs to have prostate issues as they age, so I strongly feel it's something that the vet needs to keep an eye on. I'm sure you already know that, but you know me. I have to put it out there for people reading and not posting.

Yeah if the bleeding does return it is likely he'll get neutered.

This is a sight I hope will be common in the near future. He has black feet instead of grey socks. I think he likes it too. The second shows what has become normal for us all.

Good news to report. Kryten passed his first test about going sock free. Last night he was unsupervised for about 90 minutes without wearing socks. His feet were completely dry and look normal when I took off his socks tonight.

He failed test 2 but it was a lot longer than planned as I fell asleep. I woke to him licking his foot.

Well, that's still an improvement. I hope he can go sockless for longer and longer periods. I'm sure you're all SO done with this.

Taken as part of a joke at work about working from home but he has been sockless for about 24 hours now.

Kryten had blood work done on tuesday as it is starting to look like we might need to start using regular pain medication. Overall everything looks good but there were 3 items the vet did mention. His globulin? levels are slightly elevated but that is most likely due to the fact we have been fighting these lick granulomas for so long. The other items were pertaining to the blood cells in his urine sample. He has both red and white cells present. So despite not having seen any additional signs of bleeding from the prepuce something is still wrong somewhere along the tract. The levels are low enough that she isn't too concerned about a prostate issue yet since he hasn't been showing any behavioral symptoms so we are just going to continue monitoring and re-assess when life gets closer to normal. The big guy likes keeping me on my toes, when he's not standing on them.

He's such a good boy. It's a crappy time to have ongoing issues. I wonder if you'll see a change in him if you start pain meds. They're so darn stoic.

It is amazing. Kryten has not a sock on since the 18th of April. We are still having to stop the licking on all 4 legs periodically but even when unsupervised he hasn't licked them raw again. I am almost nolonger surprised to see black hind legs.
