XXL crates

Does anybody have any tips on how to make them use their beds? The cheap ones get destroyed immediately, and the expensive ones are not being used frequently. The hard kitchen flor is definitely more popular. I‘m generally OK with him being there, but don‘t want him to hurt his bones/joints in the long term. I‘d appreciate any feedback.

For whatever reason Lettie won’t lay in her crazy-expensive-huge-comfy-bed unless there is a blanket on it. That’s the one in the living room, it’s like she needs something to snuggle with and root around in.
She doesn’t get a blanket in her crate, just the orthopedic crate pad. She’s fine with the one in her crate without a blanket. She’s a weirdo.

That‘s interesting. We all know that Lettie is special ;) (in a very positive way)
Bane would probably destroy the blanket right away. He likes cool surfaces, which is why it is really difficult to find a comfortable bed that isn‘t too soft.

Im over here in the uk and i use a jumbo baby cot mattress there breathable and very comfy, they come with a protective cover that zips on, i place cool mats under the cover in the summer months the dogs choose to lay on them when its hot. Before i did this they would lay on the hard tiled kitchen floor to lay down, the mattresses just fit in our xxxl crates

Ooh that’s genius putting the cooling mats under the cover! I keep thinking about getting one but I have a feeling Lettie won’t lay on it....unless it’s disguised as her normal bed! Great idea :D
