Friends, I have been a member here for about four years...yup, Bailey turned Four in April, so, coming up on four years. And over that time I have received the best advice and info from the wonderful members here. I have leaned on them and their knowledge and they have come through over and over again. BUT, SOME OF THEM ARE MISSING:

I want to Remember Them...Those that no longer come here, BUT, I wish they would. Some have disappeared so precipitously that I was afraid for their very existences and the care of their dogs if something happened to them. Right now, reflecting on that feeling, I am Remembering Duetsche_Doggen.... When she disappeared from our fold, I was truly alarmed. She had been having work trouble and she talked about it. I think she worked for a defense contractor and she was having trouble with at least one specific oversight person and, then...silence. I know she was an artist as well. I found information about her on line, but all attempts at contact went unanswered. I miss you, Duetsche_Doggen.

I'm thinking about Music Deb. Music Deb is the mommy of Titan a DDB. She was always on line with good advice. In fact, often, Great Advice! I loved her stories and pictures of Titan. She felt like a long distance cousin that I might someday visit. I wish you were here, Music Deb.

Ruthcatrin...she had a sharp wit and a sharp tongue. I loved her hot wisdom. "Hot" because it was always served up with a zinger that pointed out our foolishness. Where are you Ruthcatrin? We still need your insight and wisdom!

Mooshi's Mummy.... Oh! Oh! Do any of you remember Our Dear MM? I still try to reach out to her to find out how she is. I MISS HER!!! I spent so much time invested in her and her deadly illness that I feel like she ia somehow twinned with my shadow. I will always wonder how she is doing and wishing and praying for her continual healing. I MISS YOUR STORIES!

The Smart_Family: Where Are You? I have questions about Dog Food! I need your advice!

QY10...Fellow Canadian, Eh?! Drop a Line. Tell us about the pups and their training.

And there are some that come rarely...who are fading away. DMIKEM...tell us about the pups and their new homes and how the one that returned worked out? How are Jade and Odi? The pictures of your pups filled us with happiness. I could hardly wait to get home so I could see what they were up to...and your photography skills impressed me. Do you remember the one of all the pups gathered on different treads of the steps at your house...All big ears and goofy long legged babyhood. Such a good pictures.

Powerac! We never hear from you any more. I know the winter on the east coast was brutal, but I'd like to hear how you are doing. And aren't we due for a picture of your beautiful big boy?

THESE ARE ONLY A FEW.

WHO DO YOU MISS...WHOSE VOICE? Let's Remember Them!

DD is a super mysterious one. I'm thinking she probably passed away.

MusicDeb still posts on facebook.

Ruthcatrin does not come to this forum anymore and I'm not sure if she uses the other TM forum as I haven't logged in for awhile.

Mooshi's Mommy is also on facebook, but I'm not friends with her.

Don't know anything about Smart Family.

QY10 is also on facebook.

Mike is also on facebook.

and I don't know anything about powergc.

If you are wanting to add some of these members on facebook if you have facebook, just pm me and I'll send you the link to their profile.

I don't use Facebook, never have, Hector. Too old to start, but if you could pass on messages of affection that would be wonderful. I wish they would drop in for a visit every once in a while, but I understand that it is a commitment of time and effort to be on multiple platforms. Maybe we could send invites for an "old home week." Just an idea.

Ah, the good ol' days!

I think the hiccups the site went through with not being able to post pictures and being difficult to hit 'return' and all made people find other venues. :(

Thanks for this post. It brings back lots of good memories! :)

Agreed. I miss a lot of these folk as well. I keep meaning to set up a facebook account for my pups (mostly because my family keep complaining about all the dog pics I share on my regular one but since so many of our mastiff group are there that is just one more reason). :)

I wish you would, Vicki...I miss them. I wish they were part of our new Forum... It is so much better, if they would only give it a chance. And, I predict, they would be welcomed home with open arms. I REMEMBER YOU, ALL OF YOU. PLEASE COME HOME!

IMG_2612.JPG Vicki's email worked, just got the email notification. I don't think I was too active on here and part of the reason I disappeared was due to my lack of time. I believe I signed up for support and questions with our first EM (Hogan) and he is now almost 8 ! My husband was in the Army at the time and has since left the military. We have now added a Bull Mastiff/German Shepard to our family who is 11 months (Luna Marie).

This is Pastor Dave, owner of my boy "Mr. Cheevers" or more formally, Sir Chevy Remi Lee Woods. I miss being on the forum and I have no excuse. I am, however and contrary to some opinion, alive and well still here on Planet Earth with my doggies Coal the black lab and Chev. Thanks for missing us!!

Haven't been in a while, I have been using Tapatalk and it is hit or miss with some of the forums plus just Life and being busy. I do love seeing everyone's dogs and advice for different situations. Hopefully I will be around more often. We have our pup Betty who is keeping us busy too :)

Got the email. I lost my Mary a week before Christmas after a long battle with aggressive inflammatory squamous cell carcinoma. I still can't talk about her without crying. I've been so depressed. You may not remember but Mary was the one with the sudden facial swelling two years ago and the veterinarians thought it was caused by an allergic reaction to a bug bite. It took 6 months to find a veterinarian that was willing to do a biopsy in the inflamed area. One vet did a biopsy adjacent to the area and I was really discouraged when Mary came out of the surgery room with the stitches in the wrong place. The results came back as apocrine cysts but I knew there was something more going on, so I kept searching. After being turned down by numerous vets, my regular vet agreed to do exploratory surgery to see what was going on. She found the cancer had destroyed the bones and there was a hole through her nasal cavity that went all the way through to the roof of her mouth. She was started on chemo and I was able to enjoy another year with her before I had to make the dreadful decision of humane euthanasia. Hardest thing I've ever had to do. I held her and hugged her until she was gone.
My other dog was so attached to Mary, he has been having difficulty functioning without her. We went on two adoption meet and greets so far, but the first dog hated him and he didn't like the second dog. I don't think I can handle another meet and greet right now, so for the time being, we will just take it one day at a time.
I tried to upload a picture of my depressed dogs after a meet and greet, but looks like I'll have to move them to a different location first.

V__25A4.jpg Hi all, Thank you for the email. It has been a long time since I've been to the forum. You all helped us become Mastiff parents and answered so many of our questions. I very much appreciate all the encouragement and support from the folks on this site. Maggie is a little over 6 years old now. She has an underdeveloped kidney and has always had the threat of renal failure, but we keep her on a kidney healthy diet (with a few treats from the table) and her blood work has been great for years. Lately, she has been showing signs of possible heart trouble. She has feinted a couple of times which we can't explain. Usually right after trying to run down a rabbit or chase after a smell. We've taken her to a heart doctor and she's on heart medicine, keeping an eye on that. I'm currently deployed, so Maggie is at home with mommy keeping her safe and keeping her company. Maggie enjoys her naps and her play time, but mostly her naps. Even better when we are there to sit next to her. We talked quite a bit about getting a second EM to keep Maggie company, but decided she seems pretty happy not sharing us with anybody as demonstrated when my son brought home his little French bulldog.
Thank you for helping me remember the community is still on line. Will be seeing you.

I just got the email too. With computer changes and losing websites & life, I am so happy to get the link to here again. Time goes by so fast. I have a house full of seniors who I love and take care of each & every day. I love them all. I'm looking at my avatar pic and see my young Kona with her red ball. She is now 12 1/2 years old and full of arthritis. I'm going to make it a point to come back more often. I am on Facebook so see some of you on there too.
