Not such a great update for Junior

Hi AK, just wondering if my letter arrived yet...snail mail being just that slow. Hope you did and that it helped. Give a big hug to your boy from Bailey and me.

Oh, any luck with the cancer aid groups for dogs? I hope you qualify. A ray of light is overdue.
Still isn't here yet. And I applied for some of those groups... We'll see!

Yeah! I hope that they come through for you. I was tapped out from the first operation with my Grand-puppy Bella, so I was very happy when the Farley Foundation helped pay for the second surgery. I only had to put out $500 (ouch), but they were so helpful....such a blessing.

I'm praying for you and Junior.

Checked the mail and came across a surprise! :) THANK YOU!! From both of us! :)

You are so very welcome. Maybe next time we'll try that Global Money Order, but I'll have to get some banking info from you. It at least just appears within a day or so in your bank account. At least that's what I am told by CIBC. I'm at an age where I get my money orders for free. I like it!

And for anyone else who might be following this thread, here is a list of agencies in the United States that provide low- or no-cost vet care for people with low income or without jobs. It is a Godsend that these agencies exist.

Hi, any update on Junior? Just wondering how everything is going and, of course, I'm hoping that things are looking up.

Sorry! This is the latest update from his Gofundme page.

"
Chemo was set aside this week...

Mr. Boy developed Septic Arthritis due to the chemo... Thought that was going to be it. I carried him up the stairs more times than I should have, but... I had to. I'm paying for it now, but I did what he needed me to do. I'm more than thankful the meds he got to treat the septic issues are working. He can go up the stairs. Decent walks. (Septic arthritis is an infection in the joints. His was brought on by chemo, which reduces the bodies ability to fight infection. It moved on in and pretty much made his back side lame for a few days).
He's doing a lot better. :)
Happy Birthday, Big Guy! ... I wasn't sure you'd be able to enjoy this one... "

He has since gotten through the worst of the Septic stuff, the antibiotics did the trick thankfully! His vet is reassessing the chemo treatment, and we're going from there...

I am so sorry that he has been suffering, and you too. I bet your back has done a work out carrying Junior around. My heart is with you...too many wonderful dogs have gone on. I was hoping and praying that the medicine would succeed. Perhaps, after this hiccup in the road, things will turn around. I wish I could help....hoping that big tax return would be in, but...waiting on the government to roll over and cough it up. If I can later, I will. Blessings on all of you.

Junior crossed over the Rainbow Bridge on July 5th... I can't/won't go into details because, well, it's too hard right now. It was time, and he was able to go under his own power, with dignity. Without hurting his pop. With no undue stress. He went quickly, peacefully, with his pop by his side, his head in my lap.
As devastated as I am, I know he got the absolute best out of life, the last few months of his life were amazing... Rocky roads aside, life up until death, was about as great as it could be.

Pop loves you big guy... Thank you for being my boy...

I have shared my heart with you in private, but as I placed in the Shout Box, I will let my howl for your boy go up to heaven...A Great One Has Passed.

I know you will see him again...he'll be waiting on the other side to welcome his Pop.

I am so sorry to hear this. My heart goes out to you and my thoughts are with you and Junior today. I imagine that he has met up with my Cerberus and they are frolicking free from pain on the other side of the rainbow bridge. <3 <3 <3

That says it all, really. That is what I hope for any dog I am blessed to share my life with...

You and Junior had such a close bond--- a true friendship and love that goes beyond words. Just remember that you gave each other the best of each other.

Peace to you and your boy.
