What vacuum do you use?

I went looking at Oreck vacuums but the shop sold Miele (uses bags) too and after the demonstration, I bought the one for pet hair. Pricey but works great on all surfaces.

We also use a dyson. We got ours from a website called newegg.com. We also saved money and got ours refurbished. We saved a few hundred dollars, and the vac is still going strong, even after daily use. I love my dyson. It even picks up cat and dog hair off of the microfiber sofa.

We have all laminate and tile floors so I can't say for sure on that. Have cleaned up lots of stuff from the couch, liquids included in a pinch.

I have carpet so I use a bagged vacuum I got from amazon and I finish up with a shark (the purple one) to minimize dust and the shark will pick up anything the other one missed. Have you heard of the kirby vacuum?

I have the Dyson DC37. I love it. I had originally bought a shop vac thinking that would work great but I couldn't handle it anymore because it wasn't doing the job. So I broke and bought the canister animal one. I love it!! I love all the attachments including the one to vacuum Izzy!! She isn't such a big fan but it works like a brush and then sucks it right in the canister!! I will never own another vacuum!!

Ohhh I'll have to look into that one. Is it the upright? I like the other ones but they didn't get good reviews

no it is a canister but bagless. It switches from carpet to hardwood with a finger, follows you easy, and picks up dirt like you wouldn't believe (and the hair, which is why I bought it). I know it is expensive but worth every penny. The little head works great on the furniture because even though Izzy is not allowed on the furniture her hair does not follow the rule. It fits easy under furniture too although I move mine all the time so it isn't a big deal to me.

I use an I Robot Roomba.
Just let it go and do its thing as often as you need to vacuum.
We got the pet hair model and couldn't be happier we even bought one for my son and his wife and they love it too.
It wond do the furniture or drapes, but it kicks ass on the floors and goes from tile to hardwood and then onto carpet.
I love this thing!

Like others I have a Dyson.

Dyson Animal upright with all the attachments.I have hardwoods, Persian rugs over those and stairs that are carpeted.

I have gone through several vacuums and the Dyson is kicking butt!

Hard to imagine a woman being excited about getting a vacuum cleaner lol.
I once bought my wife a vacuum cleaner for Valentines day and spent the next month on the couch!!

My DH did the whole consumer reports search, and we ended up with a Miele canister vacuum 12 years ago. Still going strong. You can use HEPA filters in it, which are great at dust control. It was PRICEY, but we still have it. We're not very obsessive with vacuuming, so when we do run it (at least monthly?), we normally fill a bag... and that's with just one EM and one cat (she sheds more than the dog)... we pick up more pine needles than anything else around here. Dang trees. I love them, but the needles are EVERYWHERE! And they hurt when you step on them and they poke right through your socks!

I ran the miele in my office this weekend, followed by the bissell steam cleaner (love that thing for cleaning & rejuvenating carpets). Between the two I think I pulled a few CUPS of dirt out of my 10'x10' office space. :)
