She is so pretty! Love the kissing photo! Looks like your DD is attached to your dog like my 10y old DD is attached to our EM. It's so nice to see a great child/dog bond. :)

Sorry for the outburst, guys and girls. I'm pretty protective of those who are mine and this one was in a shelter that kills in the neighborhood of 15, 000 dogs a year. It kills me that she almost didnt make it under their kill rule for owner surrenders.

Okay. I know she may not be your "cup of tea" so to speak as she is a watered down version of a fila; however, she "saved" me. I didn't want another dog. Ever. I was hurting over the fact that we lost our girl and that I had taken her to a teaching hospital and wasn't there at the end. It still hurts that I thought that I was doing the right thing and promised her that I would save her no matter what it took and I LIED because nothing we did worked. I would have, happily, turned over my life savings to save my Hazelnut. I was dead set on not bonding with this girl when Paul brought her home to me. She wasn't having any of that business. She demanded that I was hers and she was mine. I've, always, had an OEM around and thought they were the end all be all of bonded dogs, but our girl opened me up to other options. She may not be a "real" fila in your eyes, but she is a beautiful girl both inside and out in ours and I can't imagine life without a fila at this point. Rearranging my life around a dog doesn't phase me. I'm not a fan of people or guests in general as it is. This, simply, gives me an excuse.

umm what? I guess you didnt read the part where I wrote that I got the mix and stilll have her which means I love her... just wasnt what i was originally looking for. You stated you were looking for an OEM and ended up with a Fila Mix.. this isnt the same thing as buying a pure Fila, ending up with a mix, breeding it and telling everyone you got a pure bred fila... yeeesh! I wasnt saying anything bad about your dog I was commenting on how you were looking for a specific temperament and ended up with the complete opposite.

She is beautiful and looks like she has her main squeeze right with you, your daughter...lol...Who cares what she is, as long as she fits your world, that is all that matters :)

Oh, we would never breed her or any dog. I'm just not cut out for that. She wasn't what I was looking for (I wasn't looking and was pissed off beyond belief at my husband for trying to replace Hazelnut.). I would have never gone looking for a fila at that time, but she's close enough in temperment that you can bet your bootie that I'm in love with the breed now and will be looking for one next time we get a dog. I'll, likely, go through rescue, although the fila pups are beyond adorable.

And that is exactly what I was talking about.. I wasnt trying to say anything bad about your dog or you.. I was just stating that getting a mixed bred dog will usually result in non expected results.. You will see that the only people I get on are the ones that have obvious mixed bred dogs (or poorly bred ones if you ask them) but they claim they are pure bred because it has some of the same traits. I do not get on anyone that rescues a mixed bred dog... now if in 3 days you come out and say that it is in fact a pure Fila and you would like to breed it then me and you are gonna have words, lol.
