Pain tolerance!

Not a Fila either, lol. But Thor had the some form of pain tolerance, between swollen balls, embedded thorns, and a large gash on his paw I NEVER heard that boy make a peep. I would only notice anything wrong when he would stop dead in his tracks and sit. Even then he hardly ever yelped. Mason is the same way the only thing with him is that he is a bit of a drama king.
i think on an average mastiff have higher pain tolerance than, other dogs? how is mason a drama king lol

Not a fila here, but no pain response that is easily visable in 2 mastiff's. Hence why i have one crated post surgery, or she'd put my $2700 surgery fee she cost to waste, by breaking it. she doesnt understand what pain is. So gains no protection from it, that others do, ie. pain on walking = dont.

the GSD screams like a banshee when hurt, the whole 'neighbours come running' due to screaming sound that is very loud. Such a wuss in comparison, but at least i know fast.

Earlier this summer, my Opie was treated for Lyme disease. Not a peep from him. Every movement made him shiver. Otherwise we would have known he was in pain.

Poor guy, how does this affect dogs? Do they heal all the way?

Tojvan, I agree with the previous poster.. I know it sounds cruel but crating is the only way for these guys... they dont even realize that they are hurting themselves.

Kona hurt her ankle trying to eat my dads parrot. She would limp for a few seconds then take off. Only limp when walking. They can certainly handle some pain. Hell Kona likes to play rougher then some punish their dog

Stone must be the exception because he's the biggest punk @ss I've known. Mason is drama king because he makes such a big deal out of things. One minute he's "hurt" the next he's playing, but if I scold him for something he's "hurt" again, but is "excruciating" I could give that Emmy for being such a ham.

I have already taken out the crate, he cries like a little kid but so far so good. The back leg has greatly improved. He can finally put weight on it; he can finally lift his left leg while standing on the right again. The front has improved as well he has begin pawing with it again every time he wants to protest lol but he still has a long way to go before that makes a full recovery.

Lol take him for auditions I bet he can give Beethoven a run for his money. He'd be like "who the fuck is this new kid on the block trying to steal my thunder" straight up celeb drama lol

i am open to trying it out, but what about other people there? Should i muzzle him if i take him there?

Im sure they would be able to accommodate him if you tell them what breed he is and you would need to be in the pool with him. I have also seen underwater tread mills that look like a fish tank lol, you and the dog get in and then the box fills up just enough to take the stress off his joints and then they walk just like on a treadmill, either way you will have to get in with him because he is a fila . And i wouldnt muzzle him while he swims

Boiled eggs and icy hot pads--- sounds crazy but try it and you will be amazed ...

2-3 boiled eggs a day for 3-5 days.. Put him/her in the tub with Epsom salt for 20 mins are so. After tub dry off and put a icyhot pad on the area. Works like a charm..

Good luck

thanks for the suggestion. hey it works for people why not dogs. He is doing a lot better now, but the sprain is still there; if i gently squeeze the back ankle you can see the eyes getting big. ill Give it a go and keep you posted.
