Cane Corso growth chart

It is all dependent on the dogs lines and the genetics behind them.
Aurora was 80lbs at 8 month at almost 3 years she is 90 lbs and 23.5 inches, little girl :) her littermate at 8 months was 115 and 26.5" and is 140 + and 28.5" now.
My friends boy is 7.5 months, 27 inches and 115 lbs who knows what he will end at.
Some grow a lot in their first year, then slow right down. Some maintain a steady Growth rate for a longer period.
The best bet is to just feed quality food, monitor their weight and keep them as lean as possible, I prefer to see the last 3 ribs, i like my dogs skinny :)
Let them reach their predetermined weight as slow as possible, that is the healthiest for them :)

Yes, my boy comes from big stock too. He has an older brother who is 150 lean, and I'm afraid that's what we are in for. As for his weight, he seems to change week to week. Sometimes I can see 4 ribs, sometimes he looks like he has a belly. I'll stick with the raw and keep an eye on him.

Standards are guidelines to keep in mind when always breeding. It doesn't mean you won't have dogs that don't fit those standards and those are the ones that usually end up as pets (not saying this one is just that those are the ones that do) I think the AKC standard doesn't give a weight restriction it is proportional to the height. As long as they don't loose the functionality that makes it a working breed is one of the important parts of that.

Pullo is ICCF rather than AKC, but our breeder has already expressed concern that he might not show well because of his size. It's fine by me, as he is a family member first. The idea of trying to show him was an afterthought.

Are you looking at showing AKC or Rare Breed as I don't think the AKC standard has a weight limit as long as it is proportional. The AKC standard reads as follows so as long as he is proportional then I would think he would have every chance to show as long as he has his registration.

Size, Proportion, Substance
A muscular, balanced, large-boned dog, rectangular in proportion. The length of the dog, measured from the point of the shoulder to the point of buttock is approximately 10% greater than the height of the dog measured from the highest point of the shoulder to the ground.
Height: Dogs: 25 to 27.5 inches; bitches: 23.5 to 26 inches.
Weight: Proportionate to height.

I'm really not sure. I'm a complete novice at this and haven't bothered discussing this with the breeder in detail yet. All he's said is that he likes his looks and will probably want to show him if I'm willing.

The impression I've gotten is that he wouldn't be disqualified from showing, but that some judges may be biased against oversized dogs.

I really need to have a detailed discussion with him at some point. I'm pretty much in the dark about all this at the moment.

I am also a dog owner , her name is Bella ,I got her from some family
friends and from what I saw in her parents I thought she was a cane corso
breed the problem is that 2 years ago she got infected with the parvovirus
after that she stopped growing . The problem is that by looking at her I cant tell
if she is truly a cane corso or not here are some pictures of her221916_206352846065668_2166598_n.jpg243840_210308582336761_5651893_o.jpg224228_206352752732344_2226969_n.jpg227180_206352879398998_6481638_n.jpg222491_206352942732325_1945354_n.jpg

No, she is very pretty but she has a tail from one of the spitz or northern breeds that curl up and over the back. CC don't have tails like that so while she might be part CC I would not say she is full-blooded. But regardless she is adorable and I am sure she is a great member of your family and I am so happy she recovered from Parvo as it often isn't the case.

The thing is that her mother and father are cane corso , with a pedigree, her brothers also have the cane corso traits but she stopped growing after she got sick and now she only ways 23 kg.

Draco, while Bella is a very beautiful dog, I'm going to have to agree that she is not fully blooded CC. Do you have pics of the parents? I'm not sure how much you trust the people you got her from but I just don't see CC in her. Not to say there might be some there. Her black tongue immediately makes me think part chow bc she also appears to have a thick chow like coat. Please correct me if I'm wrong. My parents have a lab/chow mix they adopted about 1.5 years ago that also had parvo. While she has a little bit longer snout than your girl, she's got the identical set tail like Mary talks about & the black tongue.

I don't know if this is even possible but maybe it could be something as simple as Bella's mom was not only bred with a CC that maybe there was another male somewhere even by accident & the breeder didn't catch it. I just don't think there is any way you can breed 2 purebred dogs with papers & end up getting puppies that don't even look like the parents. There has to be another factor (male dog) in this scenario.

I was thinking the same thing that maybe she is chow chow with the specific tongue color , but her tongue changed color over time at first it was pink and then spots started to appear ,and at the age of 2 her tongue was completely blue. The thing is that her brothers don't have the blue tongue and that they are twice the size. While she was infected with the parvovirus ,she weight only 14 kg.

That's how bailey's tongue was also. Very pink at 6 weeks, now it's black at a little over a year old. She lost so much weight when she was going through parvo as well. When she came out of the hospital I believe she only weighed a little over 3 lbs. She looked emaciated. Now she's 54 lbs & in perfect health. Do you have pics of her brothers for us to see?

Hey Chicano that weight chart is interesting! Thanks a lot for posting so much data. Is this from a litter of 12 pups all weighed weekly for 52 weeks?

My cane corso is 39 weeks, H- 25 inches; L - 30 inches and he looks lean (meaning rightfully lean for his size) but not much muscles yet. I know he weighs over 100 lbs but I need suggestions/help as to how to get his weight. Can anyone help? How do you weigh a dog this big?
