For a long time I have wanted a Boerboel. I won't be getting one quite yet but would like to plan for one sometime in the future. I'm not in a rush as I understand this isn't the average breed of dog and I want to be fully prepared. One thing that may be an issue is my yard. I don't have a fenced in yard yet. I can put up a 6 to 7 foot fence which would create a small side/back yard as well as a 4 foot fence in the front that would create a huge space for the dog. My thinking is that four feet of fence in the front with this breed would require supervision when in this yard. The street is somewhat busy. Mostly quiet but once in a while cars will drive through fast as it's a straightaway before a light. There are also people walking by infrequently. Are boerboels jumpers? I have also considered an English Mastiff as I suspect jumping would be less of an issue, however my heart truly lies with the boerboel. I will ask more questions here about the breed that I haven't found through research so far. Thoughts?
