Hello all! New member here. We are soon to be née cane corso owners. Our pup will be 7 weeks tomorrow and is weighing 12.2 lbs. he had been gaining 2-3 pounds a week but this past week he gained 11 ounces. Is this normal? Also, does he seem small? Mom is 110 lbs and dad is 130lbs. Thanks for any info you can provide

My Bullmastiff's parents weighed 120 and 130. He was only 11.5 pounds at 8 wks and he was an average sized puppy in that litter. He's 10 months old and 120 pounds now. He gained about 3 pounds a week consistently as soon as I took him home. I don't know how fast he grew before that. Since your puppy is only 7 wks I wouldn't worry about it yet. He's probably going to grow faster under your care because you're feeding him and he doesn't have to share it with other puppies.

LOL, No pictures.. You want the frame before the bulk, the parentage says you'll have a nice size pooch.. That weight at 7 weeks is fine, our 5 mo pup is no heavy weight but extremely athletic.. Babies loose weight when they come home from the hospital before bouncing back, change, stress has its hand.. Your going to need TOYS, and or you might find yourself a toy, chew toy that is.. Have a toy in hand, you'll thank me later.. LOL.. Say what you mean and mean what you say, playtime as much as you can give.. Fabric frisbees are the bomb, water bottles are near free maybe you need new socks , most anything works.. Feed sparingly, pups shouldn't walk away with a bloated belly.. Use food to get the 1st commands underway like sit, down, wait.. Watch this, and more of them..

Thanks! He has gained between 2-3 pounds the last couple of weeks. That’s why this weeks weight surprised me!

Thank you! We get to bring him home in the 15th so I’m trying to make sure we have what we need!
