Hi folks. Cane Corso UK owner. I hate saying owner, he's family, but that's the law. 8 months old, 29cm at withers but only 35kg at this time. Tried him on kibble from a puppy but no matter what brand, "THE SHITS!". On raw now, has been for a more than a month and half. Has totally arradicated the "SHITS!". Not putting on much weight on raw as did so kibble. Lean dog, long legs. Would be interested to here any advice from people in the know on his height and weight at his age.

Hi im in uk also, and have 3 ccs, can you post a pic of sirus, its best with these for them to be lean as they grow, less weight on the joints, all 3 of mine grew different, big growth stages then slow.

Are you feeding him enough raw? Raw is 70 pct water and kibble is dry. You'll need about 3 times the volume and mass with raw.

?? 29cm = 11.41 inches is that correct, ? he's less than a foot tall ? 35 kg = 77 lbs lol, if my height is correct he should look like an English bulldog.. He looks to be a finely structured pooch and should be quite athletic.. You might just have a frisbee champ on your hands..;)

Thanks for noticing my error. 29 inch not cm.

Hey I also have a CC. He’ll be 8months in November and is currently weighing 35kg. His height is about 26.5inches and I was also slightly concerned. Speaking to other owners they mentioned that CCs do tend to grow differently but in most cases they grew upwards first and then sideways. As another person said, it must be a good thing as it means less weight on their joints at this age.
On a side note he does look amazing!

Thanks for reply. Allays my concerns considerably. When walking often mistaken for a great dane pup. I wish you and Zues all the best the future. Take care.

29 inches? That's actually a very tall dog and would make him oversized according to the standard. Are you sure you are measuring it at the withers (shoulders)?
Thanks so much for input. First time measuring height of dog, after 2 companions before over many years. Getting between 27 and 28.5in now at shoulder height, where am am going wrong? Is it down to his stance? Asked measurement from Mum and Dad from breeder, will update tomorrow.

The AKC Cane Corso breed standard for males is 25-27.5 inches at the withers. It's perfectly possible that your dog is taller than standard. It's also possible that a 28 inch dog is less than 80 pounds. For instance, a Greyhound or Saluki can be that way. It would be unusual for a Cane Corso, but I can see your boy is very thin, so it's possible.
