2 month old cane corso puppy biting

hello

I have a nearly 2 month old cane corso (male). I am trying to teach him not to bite but u cannot say I have been very successful.

The problem is that I have children that come to my house to play with my children and my puppy likes to bite them. How can I stop him?

Shouting ouch when he bites me seems to work..but not when he bites the kids.

Any suggestions would be appreciated.

Thank you in advance

This is totally normal behavior at his age. I would work on bite inhibition and a soft mouth with members of your household, but I would crate puppy when you have other children over. How old are the children we're talking about? Dogs/puppies should not be left unsupervised with children, particularly children that aren't your own. (Not saying you're doing this, just putting this out there for anyone lurking.) You never know how they were taught to interact with dogs. Children are also really stimulating to puppies and it's easy for puppy to get over aroused and behave poorly. Easy for the kids to get over stimulated too. At such a young age you want all interactions with children to be positive. That's why I always just put puppy home or tether them to me and work on impulse control training in situations where things can get too exciting. It's a good opportunity to work on calm greetings while sitting. Good for both the children and the puppy.

The kids are between the ages of 5 and 12 so there is a lot of excitement with the kids...some are girls so they tend to screech :).

You suggested impulse control training. How would I go about this?
