More Snow Over the Weekend Means More Pictures!

We got a good 2 inches of snow on Saturday. I know to many of you that is nothing. But it was huge for us and the dogs adored it. Diesel does tend to be a bit more bugged by the cold and more eager to go in. Kahlua gets cold but ignores it. So this time we got them in their little jackets for all the good that tiny bit of extra cloth does and had a nice long play session outside in the snow. And lots and lots of pictures.

This is our hazel nut tree and it usually does not hang so close to the ground. It was so heavy with snow that it was weighed down.

Me marveling at the snow with Kahlua at my feet.

If you look closely you will see Kahlua has chosen to lay down in the snow under the tree after lots of play... Which of course means she was wet when she came in.

Here are some more... It only lets us upload like ten at a time. Not nearly enough for the wonder of snow and puppies. :)

Love it! Looks like they had a fantastic time. I'm originally from Alabama (with NO snow), so I know what a big deal and what fun a couple inches is when you're not used to it! I wish we would get another little snow. We had an insane 15 inches all at once at the beginning of the season, and then nothing but constant rain since then.

I keep meaning to post this and I keep forgetting. You might want to check out Hurtta dog coats. Otis has this one and it's marvelous.

They're pricey, but you can often find them cheaper online. Hurtta has a really nice line of outdoor gear and I've found that even though it's expensive up front, they really last and work well. Definitely measure carefully for the correct fit.

That is an adorable picture! I will have to look them up.

SNOW!!!

Denna LOVED our snow-event here in the Seattle area, too (glad SOMEONE enjoyed it!).

You got a lot more snow than we did. I have a similar video of Kahlua playing with her ball in the snow. She keeps picking it up and then dropping it and shaking her head because of the snow all over it. I was in hysterics. They only got a day with the snow each time. Supposedly we may have another batch coming. I wouldn't mind but my husband is already over it. I guess he isn't as awe struck by it as I am and not as delighted as the dogs. lol

And I hate the snow...or more accurately, the ice that now plagues my path as I walk the dog. It is so unsafe...I'm constantly telling Bailey, "Slow...go Slow Now!" And to her credit, she is listening and slowing down, trying to keep her mom safe.

We've had a shortage of safety salt (not the City, but the people), and homeowners can't find the stuff to make the walks around their houses safe as they are required to do by bye-law. There is a protracted labour dispute taking place at Goderich and the salt is not flowing to those who need it. So....Nik's wonderful pictures aside, I am begging...pleading for spring. Two more weeks and we should be clear of this stuff and on to spring's cool temperatures.

Tonight they called off the wind storm alert. Not soon enough, I lost my downspout and the elbow and the big O attached to it. It blew across the neighbourhood, with me chasing it. It's nuts. I'm so done with the Great White North thing.... Oh, I don't want to move...I just crave spring. I want to defrost...I want to walk without skating through half the walk. I want temperatures in the + side of things. "Spring, where for art thou!?"

Ya you definitely get more of this winter stuff then we do. For me this is "winter" like I've never experienced it but for you my winter is probably more like spring. We get just enough snow to be fascinated by it and have it be a novelty. Although I am terrified to drive whenever we have the snow or the temps below freezing. I have zero experience with ice and snow so I just consider myself locked in. lol Luckily it only lasts like a day or two at a time and I work from home so no big deal. My husband is more confident driving in the stuff than me.

We got a light sprinkling here over the past couple of days but not much has stuck. But all day yesterday I watched the fluffy white stuff falling through my window in my office. It was peaceful and nothing was sticking though so it was disappointing for the dogs.

AMEN! Accu Weather is saying spring will be SPRUNG! BIG TIME in just two weeks, and if the long-term forcast is correct, it will be a very, very warm (almost hot) spring.
Bailey is frustrated with the snow and ice because I can't walk the ice. I'm too old, I don't bounce like I used to. SPRING! COME!
