Checking out breeders

It's been a month now since we lost our precious Jake. The emptiness in our hearts and our home is unbearable at times, but we have come to terms with our decision to do what was best for him and every day it gets a little easier.
While we are nowhere near ready for a new puppy we know that within the next year to year and a half we will be ready. So we have reached out to a bullmastiff breeder who is looking to have puppies ready next November. She is going to be at a dog show about 3 hours from us on the weekend with a couple of other bullmastiff breeders so we are going for a drive to meet her and these other breeders and start developing a relationship with them so that when we are ready for a new baby we can be at the top of their list to get one.

Thank you, we are meeting with 3 breeders tomorrow, the one I have emailed with and 2 others that she shows and breeds her dogs with. We are very excited and hopeful.

We met the three breeders and I got a really great feeling from them, they have beautiful dogs and great breeding principles. One had 2 puppies there, they were 5 months old and so sweet. There was an 8 year old female who just leaned into me while I pet her and when I stopped she gave the look that they have so I had to continue petting her. It was just so relaxing to be around the dogs, they have such a calmness about them. Between the 3 breeders they hope to have up to 4 litters in the next 2 years starting late next year so we are going to keep in touch with them and hopefully have a new baby in the next couple of years.
