Friday night snuggles

Friday night I had all three of them in bed with me. Diesel, Kahlua and BrrBeary (the cat). They made such a cute picture all snuggled up that i had to try to get a picture of them. As luck would have it I got two good pictures before BrrBeary decided he had enough of my shenanigans and abandoned me for the couch.

So here it is... the rarely captured photo of my three babies.

I think Diesel's face says that he is feeling a little too loved. He would prefer to have his space. ^^

BrrBeary did abandon us because my photo taking is just insulting and he is a cat afterall.

But he didn't run off before I got the gem below.

And once BrrBeary abandoned our bed Kahlua decided she had to cuddle even closer to Diesel. Poor long suffering Diesel.

Great pictures! BrrBeary is so handsome. I have a soft spot for orange kitties.

We have an ongoing argument in our house about what his color is. I say white and Sean says orange. When we got him he was all white and then his (according to me - tan) markings came in. Now Sean says he is an orange kitty and I say he is a white kitty with tan markings. He also has beautiful blue eyes. I am not going to tell my husband you agree he is orange. I can't be letting him think he is right. :-D

Lol. Diesel does look like he is ready to bail. Great pics though. Really like that shot of BrrBeary.

The really funny thing is that when Sean arrived Saturday night while the dogs were really happy to see him it really through Diesel off as far as sleeping arrangements go.

Before we moved Diesel was always great about sleeping curled at my feet and leaving plenty of space for us. Kahlua would sleep up against sean or right between us (she is less great at sharing space because she is so snuggly). But, with Sean gone the last three weeks Diesel ended up taking his spot in the bed. Sprawled out across half the bed and he prefers to have his back pressed to my back. Kahlua would lay across the entire bottom of the bed. So the last couple days Diesel keeps getting out of bed throughout the night. Moving to the floor in a huff then coming back up and then moving down in a huff. I think he enjoyed having so much more space on the bed with me even though he missed Sean.

Sean heads to the old place again today to get more stuff so I guess Diesel will be happy to have half the bed again for a few more days lol. We will probably be upgrading to a king sized bed within the year so whenever that happens I am sure it will help poor Diesel's plight. Plus I want to build a nightstand/dog bed that goes beside me for either of the dogs (or the cat) to sleep in. Maybe one at the end of the bed too ( like an end of bed bench with storage inside and a dog bed built on top).

I'm so glad your husband was able to enjoy some time with y'all in the new house. It's too bad he had to leave again, but I'm sure time will fly, and he will be back to claim his spot again. :)

I remember the dog bed you posted. That's very creative. Seems like Diesel would like it, since he likes his own space. But I have a feeling Kahlua would be creeping back to snuggle ;)

It's true. Kahlua doesn't know the meaning of personal space. lol

So Sean left for another load yesterday afternoon and last night was torture with the dogs. Diesel refused to re-take Sean's spot in the bed and got up every twenty minutes or so to check the window and wine and whimper and cry. It was both heart breaking and exhausting. I even tried to pull him up into Sean's spot beside me so I could snuggle him and he made the most horrendous crying noise when I asked him to move there so I let him be curled at the feet. It seemed like he thought if he stayed curled at my feet and left that space open then Sean would come back and stay with us. Poor boy. At least he only has to wait a few days this time. I don't even know what he thinks when I leave though right after Sean gets back (meetings in the Bay Area next week).

Kahlua was an angel after she finally ended her hunger strike at dinner last night (I had to hand feed her though) but this morning she ate like normal. It seems like it is significantly harder on Diesel then it is on her though.

Lol.. it is showing! Funny thing is we don't drag out the y'all like most southern states. We talk fast. And shorten a lot of words, like instead of going to, we say gonna. Got to, is gotta. And our t's usually sound like d's. Like them is dem. I'll even lose the d and say 'em.
My brother moved to Florida 13 years ago and sold out, instead of saying y'all he says " you guy's " I didn't realize a lot of people from Florida have northern accents. :p

Californians also say "you guys". One of my best friends lives in Texas and always says "y'all" and I tease her endlessly about it... I also tend to be a grammar nazi so I have all sorts of phrases that bug me to no end (I really hate the phrase or terminology about "boning" in relation to sex. It bugs me so so much. lol.) I don't care for using "you guys" either but I do slip up and say it every now and then because I've just been so inundated with it my whole life. I also fully enunciate words which my husband says makes me really weird. He always teases me about "kitten". I say both t's. Always have. He says it makes me sound like a foreigner because nobody does that.

Lol ... boning! Your right that is awful
I don't like the word horny, which is actually in reference to the horned god Pan. Yuck

Tell your hubby that some people in Tennessee pronounce kitten by saying both t's. We lived there for 4 months and a little girl talked about how strange we talk, and she referenced the word kitten, and said we say it fast and all together. And her and others that live there say it kit-ten. So u are not the only American who pronounces it that way :)
