Leg tremors

ok this last week I've noticed Bella having leg tremors.... She's now 19 months old. I did notice this when she was growing.... Just before a growth spert she would do this.... I only ever seen it in her front legs....last couple days I've seen it in both her front and back legs.... Isn't my girl a little too old to be having a growth spert now? Anyone ever seen this in their EMs before?
Should I be calling my vet?

I had a lab that had it in old age, and a traumatic injury( she was a rescue). I gave her an aspirin daily, it helped. I don’t feel this is the case at all with Bella as her age and no traumatic injury. I hope you find out from more experienced people on here.

I've seen Ella's front tremble a few times, but nothing that's ever been worrisome to me. If it concerns you (and aren't we all concerned about anything out of the ordinary with our guys??), I would try to get a video of if and ask my vet what they thought. Just for my own peace of mind.

Sheila...you and I are "active members". We won't get to wear the yellow vest if we get a job at Wal-Mart, but...oh well, at least we are active. Some of our friends are "well-known." They must be the "yellow vest crowd." I like 'em all anyway. Have a great day and week !!070.JPG

Max tremors in his hind legs along with disturbing legs falling out from underneath him when he is jumping around. His brothers are teaching him how to squirrel hunt and when the tree 1 he gets so excited. Not sure if I should stop that? My husband feels sure this is due to his unbelievable fast growth. I lost CoCo to Degenerative Myelopathy so I may be really over sensitive. I am going to give him the supplements recommended for Wobblers. I heard his hind toenails drag this morning. If I don't see some improvement quickly he will go to the Vet. It does seem like Bella should be past the spurts. I would just watch it and if it gets more aggressive take her in. Have a great day!!!

Thank you for telling me about Max with the tremors and yes Bella should be past her big growth sperts.... And I did just measure her again the other night. She is now 27 and 1/2 inches in her front shoulders. That's 1/2 inch taller the. Last time I measured her that was when she was in a heet in March I do believe.... She has been vet checked for this a couple times now.... They say not to worry that this is normal I these large breeds.... That was the walk in vet clinic. I'll feel better once our normal vet checks her later this month.

I ordered a supplement called Nzymes. There is nothing in it that will hurt him and just maybe it will help. I seem to be the only 1 here concerned. My Son and his wife are staying in our Guest House for now. They, along with my husband think I am worrying over nothing. They haven't lost a dog to DM either. I just love my Babies. Can't let them feel bad. I will keep you posted and please do the same! Take Care!!!

Absolutely! And as far about you being the only one worrying. You must mean at your home... I’m pretty sure there are many here that are worrying right along with us o_O

DenyMcKusker, I completely understand your worry. I had a dog with DM too, and it's just another condition that is common in my boxer breed. I don't think you need to worry about your guy having DM now. He'd be very young. Did you know that there's a genetic test now? Maybe contact your breeder and see if they had the testing done on his parents. No guarantees either way, of course, but it might be good to know if either is a carrier of the gene.

I can't reach the Breeder. I will ask my Vet. about the test the next time I am in. It would be very helpful to know that he is free & clear. Would hate to think he is a carrier ;/ That is a very horrific condition :(

I don't know that having your boy checked will tell you much, but I could be wrong. I think it's really all about the parents. A dog must inherit two copies of the mutated gene in order to develop DM, but not all dogs that inherit two genes will automatically develop it. It just kind of gives you a heads up. I will be insisting that the breeder of any at risk dog breed test their dogs before I buy from them.
