English Mastiff Owners - pls share your Mastiff neck size with me

Hello,
I have a 7 month old male English Mastiff puppy who goes to sleep and wakes up bigger. LOL His weight is currently 105 lbs and his height is about 26.5" to shoulders. His neck is 20". I wonder how big his neck will be when he's fully grown. I have a 2 year old female English Mastiff who is only 125 lbs 27" tall to shoulders, and her neck is 23.5". I'm pretty sure my male puppy will have a bigger neck than my female. Could other English Mastiff owners share how big your English Mastiff necks are. If you can also include their weight and age, it'd be really awesome and most appreciated. Thanks in advance everyone.

The last time I measured Kryten's neck it was 34". His neck finally stopped growing just before he turned 5. He just turned 6 and last weigh in was 190 lbs and he stands 31.5" at the shoulder. To be honest I never expected his neck to get this big but he is built like a tank even given the fact he is kept extra lean due to bad joints.

Interesting subject and impressive numbers. Our male EM is 23 weeks old (so a little over 5 months) and is getting close to the 95 pounds mark. We haven‘t really measured his neck, but he‘s at his third collar. It would be interesting to measure both height and neck size. I‘ll do once we have our next vet visit and post the numbers here.

Denna is coming up on her 6th birthday in a few months. She's trimmed down to 161lb (down from 175lb last January... when she had acquired some "padding"), and her neck is 24" right behind her ears, and 27" down at her shoulders... I'd call it 26 inches for collar sizing.

At 7 months, she was 88lbs, with an 18in neck. Height was around 27in and chest around 30in. I keep it all in a spreadsheet for reference - comes in very handy when shopping for things like life vests or rain jackets. :)

Wow, 34"....I don't know if they make a collar that big!! I hope my EM puppy won't be as big, but I will love him at any size. :) I just love English Mastiffs. They are the most wonderful dogs ever.

That would be great, Tyler. Your puppy is big! When Ninja was 23 weeks old, he was around 80 lbs only. Your EM will be HUGE when fully grown. :D

Great job keeping track of your baby, DennasMom. I never thought to measure their chest sizes but that's a great idea!

Haha, thanks Cher. His dad is 225 pounds, so we are guessing he will reach at least ~200 lbs. I don‘t even know where the 95 lbs are because he is so lean.

I don't think they do. His last 3 collars have been a man's belt (started falling apart in about a week) and homemade paracord collars.

I just managed to measure his height (25 inches) and his neck 20 inches.
His neck is the same size as Ninja who is a month or two older. Wow! Is that his picture in your profile pic? He's a handsome boy. Is he fawn or apricot?

Thank you. Yes, that‘s him on the day he turned months. Here is the full picture. He is fawn.

Very cute! He's very stocky. I like that a lot about EMs.

I totally agree! That‘s definitely one of the (many) great Mastiff characteristics. I would always love my dog regardless, but I‘m personally not a big fan of EMs that look like Great Danes. Again, there is so much more than appearance, but it‘s just a personal preference.

Yes, I think English Mastiffs are awesome. I love their personality and temperament, too. They are couch potatoes and not hyper, totally my kind of dogs. I like how they are so big but very gentle.

That and "where's his saddle?" Which is the stupidest question ever IMO.

Agreed! Around here not even 10% of the people we meet seem to even know what a Mastiff is. The good thing is they are not trying to guess, so we haven‘t had the Boxer comparisons yet.

When you measure the neck of a dog do you count all the wrinkly skin or do you measure it and tape up the skin? Lol... my corso has a tremendous amount of skin around her neck
