Okay I failed at getting a photo go with my happy. But my happy was watching Outlander last night cuddled between my two pups with my husband at my side.

Jarena, that's a great picture!

Nik! I don't have cable. When did this season of Outlander start?

My happy for today is Moses smiling at me.

That is an adorable smile! I think we are three episodes in or so? Maybe four now? I have a feeling we may be getting rid of cable soon as well but I am really going to miss being fully up to date on a couple of my favorite shows (Outlander being one of them).

We haven't had cable since my oldest daughter was 3, so 22 years. For the few shows that I really want to watch as they come out, I find that an iTunes season pass in SD is worth it to me.

I had thought that I would be done having boxers after my guys now were gone. I've had them and worked with rescuing them for more than 20 years but we're getting older and they're very high maintenance dogs. Then my daughter brought home her Otis. And I knew, as did my husband, that we will always have a boxer. They make me happy. Every single day they make me happy. I laugh all day long at things they do, and the more you laugh at them the more they do funny things. There's a reason they're called the comedians of the dog world. Right this minute these make me happy.

Oh my goodness! So many of those poses could easily be Kahlua. She is a funny little thing. But more than anything she loves giving kisses. Lots and lots of big sloppy kisses.... maybe I laugh too much at her kiss giving so she is just kissing because laughter.

Omg, Kahlua is very boxer-like. She's adorable.

I'm downloading all of my pictures from photobucket and found a lot of old pictures that I haven't seen in a long time. This is my oldest daughter, Colleen, and my first boxer Greta. Colleen was diagnosed with Type 1 Diabetes just after she turned two. She's about four in these pictures and she's 25 now. Colleen didn't do well with the old types of insulin and used to have multiple low blood sugar reactions in the middle of the night, many resulting in seizures. Greta was very in tune with her and after a few years she would alert me to severe falls in glucose level. She was a good girl and is the reason I will always have a boxer in my life. I love these photos! And also how amazing that pup was able to alert and help you manage her diabetes. <3
Sounds like how Kahlua is with my asthma. These dogs are just absolutely amazing.

Today my happy is being able to work from home (because I have a cold and they still have the ac on in the office which was making my cold worse) and having my pups both asleep at my feet as I work from bed. <3

Earlier this morning it was Kahlua leaning up against me and Diesel at the end of the bed and now Diesel is lying right next to me facing me and Kahlua is at the bed. I guess they are taking turns being closest to me today. It almost makes it worth the sore throat and headache. lol

My happy today is that my girl stayed with me in bed...never complaining about being housebound due to me being ill. She never made a peep the whole time I was throwing up through the early morning hours, but she never left me. She's curled up now against my leg.... She's nursing me back to health.

Oh no! Sorry to hear that illness got you also! But glad that your girl is nursing you back to health. :)

I wanted my kids to read, and they certainly do love to read. We had an antenna on the roof and my babies watched a lot of PBS when it was TV time. They also played learning games on the computer. I swear it's why my kids have great imaginations, love to read, and were smarter than the average bear. My oldest read the great illustrated classic of White Fang when she was five. I remember going to her kindergarten conference and mentioning that. The teacher looked at me like I was insane. I came home and asked Colleen to read like she read in front of the class. She stumbled and faltered and got words wrong. She then explained that she read like that because she didn't want the other kids to feel bad because they couldn't read as well as she could. No wonder the teacher thought I was crazy. Lol.

My happy was having both of my daughters home this weekend. Ella is so happy when my oldest daughter comes home. We were laughing because when I had the opportunity to foster from Ella's litter I specifically looked at her picture and said, "Not that one." But Ella flopped on the ground in front of Colleen and that was that. My husband had a brindle in his arms and my daughter had Ella in hers and they made me pick. Colleen (at 19 years old, lol) had these big eyes and her bottom lip quivered just a bit because she knew I preferred brindles. I don't remember every seeing my daughter want something more. Of course I chose Ella. And once she came home I tried not to fall in love, but here she still is. A foster fail. Colleen looked at me loving on Ella last night and said, "Not that one she said." And laughed.

I love it! I'm a sucker for the lip quiver, too! Don't tell my daughter, I'm already putty in her hands.
