Cane Corso in my region has always been used as big hunt dog and especially for badger hunting (where were selected brighter colors of the fur, that nearly disappeared after the ''creation'' of the race). And people still use it here.Well not the cane corso of our days, the one that you find in expos with underbite and golden retriever temperament..But old and fierce cane corso often mixed with native greyhound,to arrive at a prototipe of a fast dog, with medium force but lots of stamina a different dog from the one used as guard of the lands,or from the one used as guard of the herd with massive force but low stamina and a very harsh temperament(the first one was called ''Sparviero'' the others were ''cn corz'' in my dialect, cane corso in italian) ..But well this isn't the history that is told when you buy a corso son of World Champ. The Cane Corso race is one of the most versatile race,he can do nearly every functional work from guard to hunt, depending on the right selection..
