That first Gray and White one, wow thats a pretty one. Looks bout like theres some st brenard in there from the marking. Pretty is pretty to me so it would'nt bothr me a bit if markings dont match a standard. Specialy if the rest of the look does

Interesting colors pied and black are my favorite. If they are healthy, sound, I could care less about the colors, so long as it doesn't lead to genetic issues.

I don't mind the mismatched coats as long as the dogs are sound. I know these two aren't mastiffs but...

Dudleys are a big draw right now for bulldogs but they are being sold as a rare color and there are often health problems in the dudley's that aren't seen in the other Bulldogs. I like them as puppies, not a huge fan of them in adults (have no idea why).

I love the look of the Black and Tan Labrador Retriever. Never saw one until I went to meet a breeder when I was researching Petey's pedigree. I went to see one of the dogs in his line that she had kept after retiring him and she had a litter on the ground with one black and tan puppy.

Bulldogs are cute as puppies, interesting coloring combo on that pup.

Hmmmm...not quite feeling the black and tan lab at all.

See I am the opposite. I like the black and tan lab, the tri colored bulldog not so much. Actually, the breeder said that every time she got one, they always sold to woman who was looking for a dog who looked intimidating but was easier to handle. A lot of people mistake the black and tan lab for a rottweiler. :)

The Bulldog is pretty cool looking. I think I've seen red and tan labs before too... I've also heard that red Rottie exist but I can't find a pic.

My favorite mismark was a Berner who was more white than black and brown.

That sounds interesting, is it something you saw online or in person? There's an albino Saint Bernard that goes to our dog park> I should try to get a picture of her, very interesting looking. Her eyes are light sensitive, and I'm sure they have to be careful not to let her nose and the skin around her eyes to burn.

I like the red rottie thats cool looking. the vertiligo (have to look that up, dont know what it means) rottie is very interesting, that one almost looks like you're looking at a negative of the photo of it.

Vitiligo causes a loss in pigment, it's what Micheal Jackson supposedly had.

OK those markings on this rottie are awesome!

Haha! I think the bulldog pup is cute but like said when it matures into an adult ehh.....maybe not, lol. I like the way the woman thinks.

Does the breeder intentionally breed for the black and tan or was it a mishaps?

It's a genetic mishap when it happens. They used to cull the puppies when it did happen and when she had her first black and tan lab she was told to cull it (this was back years and years ago. I met her about 8 years ago and she had already been breeding for about 25 years. Anyway, she refused to cull a perfectly healthy puppy because of coat color so she said forget it. All black and tan pups are sold on non-breeding contracts and have to be spayed or neutered but she would sell them whenever they occurred. I think she had had about 9 pups in total through the years. Silver labs are popular as well but there is a huge debate on where they came from as the breeder that the first silver lab came from also bred Weimaraners. Coincidence or did someone fudge a few registration papers?

If you look at the renascence bulldogs out gargoyle kennels they show a lot of the black and white and oddball markings. They are far from purebred but he has succeeded in breeding out the problems of the english bulldog.
