Throwing up...help, please

Sounds a bit like what we went thru with Ninja
a short while back. Scary when they get that sick.
Keep pushing the fluids and hopefully good news the rest
of the way. Glad to hear he is doing better.:)

Do you have any probiotics? The antibiotic medication, while it'll clear up the infection, will wreak havoc on his digestive system and could make the diarrhea worse....

Now that you mention it, the vet said something about that, but it was right as we were leaving and I was fighting with Franklin, so I didn't really pay much attention. Thanks for the reminder. :)

Franklin has kept down his food all day and there hasn't been any more diarrhea since this morning. Tomorrow I'll increase his meals a bit and see how he does. The air conditioner has been out here at home all day and I was afraid the heat would get to him but he did fine. :)

I second the probiotic suggestion- it would really benefit Franklin.

Anyway, happy that he's doing better. :)

Thanks, NY. He's almost back to his old self. I'll get him yogurt tomorrow. Now that you guys have mentioned it, maybe that's why his diarrhea went from bad to worse this morning.

Can I get a regular yogurt or do I need something like Activia?

I forgot to mention an important part!!!

For the last few months I've been wondering how much my f-bomb weighs.

He's 122 pounds. Funny, when he stands on me, he feels a lot heavier.

plain no flavor yogurt, or cottage cheese. The cheese has less probiotics but dogs will eat it more readily.

Thanks, Mike. :)

I think I read on here somewhere that he should have a tablespoon in the morning and another at night. Is that correct?

Sounds about right. Thought if he is fighting off infection, I'd give a tbsp and wait to see how his system takes it. Sometimes, even too much yogurt can cause the runs (it did for Boone).

They finally fixed it at around 5 yesterday. It got up to 92 before it started to cool down. Franklin took the heat better than I did. ;)

I use Greek yogurt cause that's what I have on hand for us. I've only had problems with dogs not wanting to STOP eating it. ;)

Glad your AC was fixed... 92 in a house is hot! Titan and I would not make it through the day with 92 in my apartment.

I'm happy to report that Franklin appears to be all better. :)

His poo is back to normal and he hasn't thrown up since the day of his vet visit. I'm putting him back on his food today but I'm wondering if I should keep going with the Flyagl until it's gone, or can I stop giving it to him now? He's only been on it a few days.

Keep going with the All meds until gone. Introduce food slowly and increase over time. Take it very slow so his digestive system does not get a shock.
