The Kangal club of American says 30-32" is the "desired range" for a male. I suppose 40" isn't impossible, but look at how out of proportion that dog is in the picture. Either its seriously poorly bred (AND) its been photoshoped, or its a young dog (in which case its not NEARLY as big as it looks, but the head is a mature head so I highly doubt this one).

Remember these men are Turk or Greek, not as tall as American average.

Mike, the proportions of those dogs is MUCH better than the originial picture, but the original picture appears to have a mature head on the dog, out of proportion to the rest of the animal.

GOOD photoshop, by a pro, would.

Not photoshopped. The guys are average 5'5" to 5'7"

In the original picture the man is actually standing by the rump of the dog throwing off the perspective of the photo. I have seen pics of that dog before and he is huge. Over 6 foot standing.

I disagree on where the guy is standing, but do you have other pictures of the dog?

Actually I shouldn't say by the rump, he is back about 2 or 3 feet to the left see how he is holding the chain. I will see if I can find other pictures, it has been a long time. I think in the second set I posted bottom left is a litter mate of his.

His feet are about a foot or less from the dog's front feet, he's holding the collar and harness up tight, presumably to keep the dog still for the photo.
