  • Welcome back!

We decided to spruce things up and fix some things under the hood. If you notice any issues, feel free to contact us as we're sure there are a few things here or there that we might have missed in our upgrade.

What will your next dog be?

I think our next addition will be an Irish Wolfhound. I've met several and think they are a great match!

My dream would be to get another Cane Corso. I would want a male next time and hopefully within the next two years it can happen. My girl is only 11 months so I want to really see what she grows into and and work with her more before adding another, also to need to be able to find the right fit. My new addition doesnt have to be a puppy but must be a CC. This breed has stolen my heart.

I will always have an EM in the house, so many yrs from now when Bentley leaves us it'll be an EM. Now when Giz(shih tzu) leaves us my hubby wants a yorkie. I have mixed feelings on that. I think they are cute, but sometimes to see a wirey looking one and it's really not. Gizmo doesn't bark at all unless he's playing, we don't do barky little dogs so we always corrected that. It'll all depend probably on what we find. I wouldn't mind another shih tzu, this is my second and we have loved them both.

The folks we bought our house from have a pair of yorkies. They were EXTREMELY well trained. And they YAPPED CONSTANTLY.....I don't know if they just didn't care and so didn't try to correct it, or if they tried and failed.

Ah, A Fila for me. I have my eye on a boy I want to be my "Babies daddy". I am hoping he "hooks up" and brings a litter to the world within the next year or so but definitely a Fila.

I call that the yorkie selective hearing. Daisy has it bad. I will let her out in the back yard & she barks at everything. She will also hop through the grass like a bunny, running all through the yard just barking her little head off. I have to usually yell at her "no" or "stop" & then she's gotta get the last word in. She's got the cutest personality, barely sheds & knows a lot of tricks. Speak is one of them most recently taught & I'm starting to wonder why I did that to myself. Lol. And she's only part yorkie. The dachshund in her is a total 100% burrower. She's gotta be under the covers, blankets, whatever at all times.

Yep, Yorkies are a popular breed over here (obviously) and every single one of them I have seen is a yapper.

Two other Albertans! Hi guys!!! :)

Our CC Vito is only 5 months old, but we are very, very sure that we will be getting more dogs. Once Vito is older and ready to be a good example for a new family member, we will be getting another one (or seven, if if I had my way. Haha.). In a couple of years when the kids are older and we are in a bigger house will be a perfect time. I'm a stay at home Ma with the kids and dog already, so another dog or seven would be fun! We are already pretty set on our next dog being a rescue. It's safe to say it will definitely be a mastiff, but not a TM or Fila as they don't fit our family. Probably another Cane Corso but I'm open to look at other pups too.

Were you at the St Albert dog park the other day?

I'm way too indecisive to decide! It'll be about this time next year hopefully that ill be able to get another pup. I know I want another big dog but I have a long list. A male EM, Saint Bernard, DDB, Corso, Bernese Mountain Dog and a Newfie are all on my dream list.

No, that wasn't us. I don't venture into St Albert very often, although it's not far from us. We go to the Callingwood park daily though since we live a few blocks from West Ed.
I would love to see another CC in the area though! So far I haven't seen any.

Haha, I would NEVER diss them!! How could anybody do that?
I am only saying that they wouldn't be a fit for our family. I am definitely glad that I can still admire them on this board. From afar. Haha.

I love newfies when they belong to someone else. I used to groom a rescue newf named Rosey & she was the absolute sweetest dog. But just a bath & brush out on that dog made me never want to have one. She had an extremely thick coat. I think I'll stick to thin coated or shorthair dogs.

Anyone ever have a German Shorthair Pointer? I've been around a couple & while their energy is just crazy, they seem to have really nice temperaments.

That is crazy! Vito's litter had 11 pups I think and they are from just outside of Camrose. There was a breeder just outside of Sherwood Park that had pups a few weeks after too.
I don't know how big that litter was but that's like 20 5 month old CC's around the city. Or cities, I suppose.
Oh and since you guessed me at mid to late 20's we are officially BFF's. Haha.

There was a couple in my first handling class, owners said they were VERY HIGH ENERGY, but generally pretty easy to train too.

Lol fair enough. Well I have a 9 month old EM so if you ever want a play pal for your CC let me know, I can always meet you at a dog park some where for some puppy time.

So it's safe to say to not get one unless you have a job for it? ;) The two I knew were older & probably more calm then say a 9 month old puppy. Lol
